About Dr. Finkel

Dr. Finkel trained in Emergency Medicine at Harvard, where she was asked to stay on as faculty at Harvard Medical School. She spent five years teaching at Massachusetts General Hospital.

While at Harvard, Dr. Finkel was the recipient of numerous honors, including the Best Faculty Mentor award. She served on the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors and held a seat on the Women's Mentoring Task Force for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

In addition to her medical accolades, Dr. Finkel has professional writing experience. She was selected to complete the Mass Media Fellowship in Science Writing sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She has published in academic journals, on-line textbooks and as a science writer for the Oregonian newspaper. Dr. Finkel is currently a board-certified, practicing Emergency Physician.
