Post Baccalaureate Applicants
Your personal statement is critical to distinguish you from the swarm of competitive post baccalaureate candidates. A one-on-one advising session with Dr. Finkel before you compose your personal statement, followed by Dr. Finkel’s expert editing, will make you a more compelling applicant. Prior to your advising session, Dr. Finkel reviews your background. During your session, she brainstorms individually-tailored essay topics, suggests an explicit outline, pinpoints how to highlight strengths and address weaknesses, and reviews clichés to avoid. Upon receiving your personal statement draft, Dr. Finkel’s comprehensive edits tighten your organization, form, focus and syntax. The Writer’s Block Package includes three edits of your personal statement.

How is this different from personal statement editing?
The Writer’s Block Package starts with a one-hour advising session on Zoom – before you write – so you begin with a plan. Then Dr. Finkel edits your draft up to three times.

How long should my personal statement be?

How fast is the turnaround?
Dr. Finkel’s turnaround time is very fast. Unless there is an unforeseen event, edits come back within 48 to 72 hours.
Occasionally, applicants need a highly expedited timeline. Such requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on Dr. Finkel’s availability; pricing varies based on the volume of requests at the time and the level of urgency.
